OOTN:Gig time

Soo some flattering photos here. My best friend had a gig with his band the Venice Notebooks.Check them out HERE. They're amazing, I always take the opportunity to plug them when I can. I was supposed to be going to a school disco after hence the bra top, I don't have a white shirt so I went as catholic school girl(Crosses)
Jacket:TK Maxx £22
Bralet:Primark £5
Disco Pants:Glamorous via Republic £23
Gloves:Primark £1.50
Bag:Primark £6
Shoes:Jeffrey Campbell Litas via Ebay £50

FOTN:Gigging it up right nice

Thought id try this whole face of the day thing. Yeah its dark but the pictures havn't turned out too bad.

So yeah.My foundation is Rimmel match perfection in the lightest shade, which I think is a bit too light for me. I was surprised because I have a ghost face so I thought it would match, but hey ho on with the search for the perfect foundation.
My blusher is MAC sheer tone in shade Peaches, I know I should use a pink blush but I prefer the way peach toned ones look, pink ones just don't look too good on me.
My eye liner is Collection 2000 felt tip liner because i'm crap at applying eyeliner so I need to have a pen.Fail.
My lipstick is MUA in shade 2 I think though I switched to Rimmel red tulip at the end of the night because I prefer the colour.
I used a number 17 eyebrow pencil to define my eyebrows, though they really need shaping.
I also have benefit high beam on and collection 2000 concealer in light but you cant really see that.
I love cat liner and tried to go for a bit of a Hollywood glamour look with this with the big thick cat liner.I think it worked better with the dark red lips though.

Megalomanic Monday Etsy Edition

I decided to do a themed MM around Etsy shops because its a good website. I love that the stuff is handmade or vintage because I make jewellery myself so its great to see other handmade stuff.. Id get a shop myself but it can be quite expensive. There's some great stuff on there ranging from the very cheap to the expensive and classy. Being quite tight I go for the cheap stuff and on Etsy that still can be quirky ands awesome. So here's my best of Etsy.
1.Raw Earth do a pretty good range of above knuckel rings. I had to work hard to not use the cross knuckle ring because im sure you are getting fed up of seeing crosses. This is classy and makes me think  of hippies for some reason which is great.
2.FECKIN SWEEEEEET! They're shotgun shells! Its every zombie enthusiasts dream. And I am a zombie enthusiast. I watch the films I play the games. But enough about me being crazy. These would look awesome with a badass outfit, a leather jacket, maybe some docs. Perfecto.
3. I love foxes. Obviously,I live in the city. See them all the time, there's one on my street which we have named Clive and hes pretty ballsy. These have got a sort of surreal look about them to me which is what drew me to them. They remind me of the cartoons I used to watch as a kid. You gotta love a bit of nostalgia.Da silva
4.This ankh ring from Aquarian Thoughts is just perfect. Its so dainty and girly and would look great with a bunch of other rings for an uber silver look. Its so on trend with it being a knuckle ring, I love it. I love egyptian stuff.
5.The little ghostie earrings from designs by mishii  are adorable. Perfect for halloween or just for saying I believe. I love them. They might be kinda cool for a touch outfit to add a little cutesie edge.
6. These are beyond pretty. The glitter makes it really girly while the holograph makes it on trend and eye catching as hell. Id wear these with everything.Neat
7.This Pyrite ring from SPECIMEN is amazing. Its so jazzy. I love it. It looks pretty classy too and could be grungy or for a night outfit. Id wear this alone because its such a stand out piece.
8.Yes Fabulous Wire Yes. This is so pretty. I'm obsessed with knuckle rings so I wish this was a knuckle ring. But as a ring it is pretty funky and so random.
9.This Meredith Grace necklace is awesome. I love ships and this one does not dissapoint. I love the old timey sepia (I guess you could call it instagram filter effect) of it and the colour and think they contrast each other nicely. Id wear this with anything black or white so it stood out.
10.These Sleepy Mountain earrings are really sweet. I love retro stuff like tapes but could hardly bear having a proper tape dangling from my ears. these are an adorable alternative. the fact that they are handrawn just makes them that bit more kitsch

HMMM that looks interesting

For once i'm going to blog about something i'd like to try.Mark this moment. In a years time we will celebrate it.
I read that for her wedding to Ryan Reynolds(grr hate her for marrying Ryan Reynolds,he's supposed to be saving himself for me) Blake Lively had a velvet manicure which seemed like a pretty funk idea. We've had a few awesome nail trends in the last few years what with crackle nails, then croc effect then caviar and now fabric feeling nails.
Not wanting to be one to shy away from a weird trend I have decided to try this. I can imagine it would feel so gross at first and then kinda fun, like after trying crackle nails for the first time(Dayam that was weird). Besides its makeup academy and they are so cheap why wouldn't you want to try everything?
What are your opinions on fur effect nails? Yea or nay?

OOTD

Thanks person walking past my window playing gangnam style. IM TRYING TO BLOG I CANT DANCE RIGHT NOW!
Im trying to teach my boyfriend to take my blog photos so I can get some better ones. This is our first attempt. Though to be fair I was moving about a lot. Im a bit bummed out that i had to get rid of half my photos because my fly was open. I must never leave the house in a rush again

The Jacket was £10 from Shoreditch vintage fair
The shirt I've had ages and cost my £5 so I decided to cut it up after owning it for five years
The disco pants were £23 with discount from republic. They're Glamorous. I'm pretty pissed off because the camo jacket has snagged them.
The shoes were £15 in the river island sale. I ended up having to buy blister plasters to stop them rubbing. Someone please teach me how yo wear shoes you cant wear socks with.
The bag was £6 from Primani. Its skull patterned, yummy.

Megalomanic Mondays

I've been thinking maybe i should do a Megalomanic Mondays that's organised and based on one theme. But then I see something really random that I love and that goes out the window. This week is another one of those weeks. Also I just realised I have six things.but they're all so pretty so I don't know what to get rid  of.Think of it like Megalomanic Mondays extra. More megalomania for your money.
1.This is pretty.Maybe a bit short but I love the cloud pattern. And its only $9.95 from Factorie. Which isnt bad,its about £7? I think this could be really flattering with a pair of tights.
2.This may be controversial but that's what I love about it. The idea that God is a women is pretty provocative. But hey maybe thats me wanting to stand out. This would be hard to style because tshirts arent the most flattering on me unless I cut them up.I also love the gothic dripping print. Its just an overall fun piece from Dimepiece.
3.Actually I just thought the t-shirt would look pretty banging with these stripey bottoms. I'm not sure if they are leggings or jeans. I would prefer them to be jeans. They are $40 from Miracle eye. One thing I will say about miracle eye is that I love that they use normal women. They arent stick thin and lanky like giraffes. This model is apparently only 5 foot 2, which is one inch taller than myself.I love that they are marekting their clothes to the people who will buy them. But yeah the trouser. I love them. They are really flattering and would hide the lumpy legs that I have.

4.MMM tartan. Im half scottish so I love tartan. And this is a circle skirt which is the slightly less flattering version of the skater skirt. This is so fabulous and would fit right in with the whole nineties trend thats going on now. This would work pretty well worn high waisted with a spaghetti strap crop top and some flatforms or maybe converse. But maybe that's just me wanting to wear everything with converse.
 5. Im new to houndstooth. I feel I might have mentioned this already. I used to hate it when it first came out but i'm warming to it. Its a complex pattern which I don't normally wear. But I think I would wear these. They are $18 from the Pretty Junk. A good pair of leggings are a wardrobe staple and If you can call disco pants leggings I am glued to leggings. Leggings are so versatile. They can be worn with a normal length top(i know a lot of people don't like this but i say boo to you people) They can be worn with a long top. I even wear them to the gym. They are pretty flattering on most people. I feel like a patterned pair can be even more flattering provided you get the right size and the pattern doesn't get too stretched.
6.Your free item. This too is from miracle eye. I love this model, her hair is awesome and shes got a normal persons figure. Fabulous. And this top still looks great. I would wear it with disco pants because I am in the middle of getting my disco pants surgically attached to me. But this would rock with a skater skirt ,a circle skirt, you could even doll it up with a pencil skirt.

Barry M Peach Melba

I know this is another Barry M review, but that is the product that I have been buying recently. The vast majority of my nail varnish collection is Rimmel so I broke away and tried Barry M because I love the colours. There isn't that vast a range of colours in the shops and not all of my favourite colours are stocked on the Barry M website, they are mainly pastels and a few odd colours and some autumn shades. But I do like them. The most recent of my Barry M purchases is another pastel shade. This colour caught me eye a long time ago and i've been dill dallying around buying it, but I finally did.Its peach Melba. Its a pink peachy toned colour. It caught my eye because I really like the light pink with enough orange/peach toned to make it girly, but just the right amount of girly. Its a very feminine colour, I do love it
But that's the reason i'm writing this strange review. Its weird to do a review of one colour, but I was so confused by this product that I had to.
I had to use the product a few times before I could write this review because Barry M products often seem to behave strangely the first time I use them. This was no different. The first time I used it it looked all watery, the distribution of colour was weird and there would be hardly any in one area and a normal amount on another. When using it a second time I found this was still the case so I used a thicker coat, this however meant it dried slowly and smudged easily. I've just put a second coat on and the colour looks a lot better. Its still a bit thin in places but its not too noticeable  The paint is glossy and i'm not sure I need to put a clear coat on top, though I probably will because the amount of nail varnish I have on means its going to peel off in chunks if it starts to chip.
The smell is normal and not too overpowering,it's a normal nail polish smell. The colour is beautiful. It just requires so much paint to make a difference that It does look a little unnatural, Its stands out against my hands quite a lot, which I don't think this would happen if I didn't have to use so much paint. For the price I suppose its not too bad and a higher price nail varnish would probably perform a lot better, though I do expect more from Barry M. I don't know whats happened.,it might be something wrong with the amount of pigment that makes it go on so weird. Overall I wasn't pleased with this product. I will use it again because I like the colour and could wear it on days where I don't want my nail polish to last that long but I definitely think Barry M could have done better.

Megalomanic Monday

Mark this moment. I have one follower.(Insert happy dance here) Im so psyched!.Hi follower.Thank you so much for following
This one was a little hard to do because Ive been trying to restrain my window shopping so I dont destroy my bank account. While I was looking for some stuff to include I found quite a few cute little Big cartel stores which I might do a feature on at some point.
This is my list of 5 things I have been looking at recently. Theyre grungy as always.
1. Although I don't at this present moment have the arms for an arm cuff(Gym here I come) I do love them. This one is from Adorning Ava and is only £8. Im quite tempted to buy it and use it as an inspiration to go to the gym(Not that I need it,im loving being a gym bunny at the moment). I love the way chain can be used to create movement in a piece of jewellery, not just to display a pendant. Obviously I was drawn to this because of the crosses. The obsession is starting to scare even me now
2.I have been to a few craft fairs and have been around the lanes in Brighton quite a bit this year and have seen loads of quirky pieces like this. This one from the Mymbles Daughter is great. Its the sort of piece I look at and then kick myself for not thinking of it. And for £12 its not unreasonably priced either like some quirky original pieces can be. I love how eye cathcing it is,its the sort of piece that would get noticed if you wore it.I want one

 3. I saw this skirt on another blog and I loved it and was so tempted to get it because its eye catching and would be easy to grunge up to the max. But then I forgot where it was from and wept with the sadness for a while. But browsing through my bookmarks for this article I found it again and now I am anxiously awaiting payday so I can have it in my home and wear it everyday and fall asleep with it in my arms. The busy pattern adds some texture which makes me think that it would be quite flattering even on a curvy girl like myself. Oh and its from Lovely Sally, about £20 I think
4.SKULLS!Sorry, that was my inner goth. Its a skull magician! To a ridiculous person like myself I love the image of a skeleton magician, they'd be so terrible at card tricks. I like this because its a stand out piece,One the website It didnt say if it was massive or not. Id hope it was because it would be a great way of toughening up a girly outfit and just over-gothifying (check out my new word) any grungy outfit. Because its all shiny and gold you could even wear it as part of an evening wear outfit. Oh the possibilities. Its from hereJ
5.I really like this. The pattern makes it look like an heart rate monitor or lines of poetry rather than the normal psychedelic tie dye pattern. Its from Cow vintage, a shop that I used to love when I lived in Derby. The nearest is in Nottingham and they permanently have a giant sale on. But unfortunatly at that time I wasn't as regular a frequenter of the fashion blogs so had no idea how to style anything from there. But now I do I want this.
So that was another Megalomanic Mondays.I'm sorry I havn't been doing many outfit posts. I really want to do some more because i've been quite proud of some of my recent outfits and I also have a teeny weenie haul to do. But unfortunately my camera has vanished into the abyss that is my temporary flat and until I can move into my actual flat (hopefully in the next few days) I probably wont be able to find it.

Megalomanic Mondays

Ta dah!Its monday. Heres a few things I have been looking at recently.
1. I love leather. It can add texture to an outfit and make it loads more interesting. Ive seen so many different styles of this skirt on so many different blogs and I finally found one I can afford. Its £23 from ark and I love it.Skater skirts are amazing because they are feminine and flattering and this one is grungy as hell (i like me some grunge)
2.My mum just sent me a pencil skirt and i'm happy with that. I love a pencil skirt, theyre elegant, theyre sexy and they really emphasise a curve or two. I love this one because when I tried it on today I was wearing my new alphabet tights, which made it look grungy. But I also know I could style it for an interview or a night out. This skirt is really multifunctional. And for some reason stripes are something im drawn to at the moment. That and velvet. Oh and its £18 from bank which isnt too bad a price.
3.I love a shirt.theyre versatile. And any excuse to wear some collar pins is fine. I love this shirt, the cold shoulder detail makes it more interesting than a normal shirt and its covered in skeletons. This oversized one looks great, and it would look great with a skater skirt. And its only £8 from fashion union.I Love it. I have been looking for some decent shirts for ages because my denim one is being worn to death
4.Wow this skirt is so 90's. I love it. I love a good flannel shirt, but this is a skirt!already my mind is blown. This is so grungy and so channeling the essence of the 90s and Kurt Cobain and everything that was good about that era. I wish I was a teen during that era and not a baby so I could have experienced the fashion. This would be so easy to style and a pair of docs with this would be just perfection. Unfortunatly its UNIF so I cant afford it.
5.Sheer shirts are so yummy. Though im never sure whether to wear something underneath other than a good bra (im quite boobiliscious,if youve got it flaunt it) I do still enjoy a heer shirt. And this one has crosses so its perfect.I was srawn to it because it really is sheer, there are a lot of sheer shirts out there that you could get away with not wearing a crop top underneath. This one is really see through, which would probably be  better at accentuating curves. Its only £20 which isnt a bad price for wasteland.
So that was my belated megalomanic mondays.Hope you enjoyed and feel free to post comments
