Barry M Croc Nail Effects review

In october I bought the Barry M Croc Nail effects in Burgundy.
I couldnt quite get used to it at first. I didnt read the label ,applied it to dry nail polish and it ended up being a weird oxblood sort of shade. Dont get me wrong.I love oxblood. But you could see the base coat underneath and it looked like someone had bled all over my hands, which though halloween-y, really isnt that good a look.
However I retried it recently and I was so impressed I went out and bought the black one today.
I didnt really notice this with the burgundy but the black is very shiny. It looks so shiny on that I havnt applied a clear topcoat because I dont think I need to. When I tried the burgundy I was impressed by its staying power. After an hour in the bath it had only chipped a little and that was only when I used my exfoliating gloves. If I hadnt had the bath or used the gloves I feel like it would have lasted longer. After the intial chips it didnt peel off loads like some nail varnishes do.
I have noticed with other Barry M effects nail polishes (Crackle,im looking at you) that when you put it on it makes your nails feel all dry and disgusting and have this texture which I really just abhor. I was pleased to find this doesnt have this. It obviously feels textured because it is but its not dry.The nails just feel nourished.
I love the fact that they do it in Burgundy too, my other half encouraged me to get the Burgundy for something a little different and im so pleased  I did.Its such a nice autumnal shade and I paired it with black which just looked great. Toady I tried black with navy blue underneath but it hasnt quite had the effect I was looking for because the blue is too dark to see the black properly. Its a dramatic look but too dark to appreciate both colours.
I have heard people say that croc is just another crackle and I can see the similarities. This one is more circular crackles where crackle is more rectangle and sort of straight crackles if that makes any sense. Its more geometric. This can have elements of that, its pretty unpredictable. It might depend on how thick you put it on.The bottle says use a thin coat which I do but I guess Ill just have to experiment with it a little more.
The most important part is,it does look like a crocodile.Which with a name like croc effects, what more could you ask for?
For the £3.99 I believe it was,its definitely worth the money,Its so cheap and I really would reccomend it.Too bad its winter. Its great for autumn

You cant really see the blue but I do have Rimmel 60 seconds in blue my mind underneath. Not a colour I use a lot but its the only navy I have.I would like a matte navy thats a little lighter to use black croc with because I feel like it would be a great dramatic look.A dark red would look good too.

I hauled my ass off

Oh christmas. Why do you provide me with an excuse to go into shops.I went shopping for a few things for my boyfriends sister. Then this happened.
Mollys Presents

So yeah a couple of Barry M polishes.Im sure youre noticing, the theme is pink. She loves pink so I went as pink as possible.

I also got her the candy cream bubble bar from lush. i bought it for my mum a couple of weeks ago and it smelled so fantastic and seemed like such a fun gift that I had to get one for molly too.Ill probably get myself one in the new year if my mum says it works. It smells like parma violetss
I go this free because I bought three Barry m Polishes.Im not to sure about the colour.Im not a massive fan of blue so I will probably give it to my mum. I bought her two other barry m polishes, one in burgundy and one in teal which is similar to this colour.Id take a picture of them but I got all excited and wrapped them already.I got her the candy thing bubble bar too and these beauties from lush.

I have the love lettuce face mask and have to say they do work well.  a face mask seems like a good thing for her to have because theyre quite fun.She gets her hands wet and covered in chemicals at work so I though it would be good to get her a decent hand cream, out of lushes hand creams this one seemed to work best and is designed for hands that get wet often.
I got my dad a mulled wine kit because im a little lost about what to get him. I also got all four series' of open all hours for him.
Sammys presents from sammy for excelling this year at being sammy
Batiste because I feel so greasy at the moment. And my other half loves cherry so thought he might enjoy smelling me
Desperatly in need of a new one.Mine ran out and I look so bland without eyeliner now that I actually wear it.I have to have felt tip liners because as soon as I have to do something that require steady hands (take a photo, apply eyeliner, nail varnish, operation etc) my hands get all shaky. Its like im drunk

Yes theres a cross theme.despite being the least religious person in the world im really loving the crosses that are everywhere at the moment. The dangly cross earrings are both from Primark and were £1 each! For that price I had to get silver and gold,im trying to wear gold at the moment. The studs are from river island and were £1.50 a pair so got silver and gold. The necklace was £2 from primark and I had to get it because ive been lusting after the republic one for weeks and this is a fraction of the price
The collar pins are from ebay.I saw some on kukee that I loved but I lost them so found the same on ebay
Well done if you read all that.Sorry it was so long.I got really carried away!

Things I love about christmas and winter

It is a pretty amazing time of year.Yeah its hella cold(sorry scotland,i know youre getting it worse but crap england is too cold for me)But there are soe things you have to love
1. Frost. Dont you just love how glittery things look? The newborn fashionista in me loves that because glitter is so ontrend right now. I just love how magical the world looks when its glittery.even though without my trusty leopard print wellyboots(I MISS YOU!) im am a slip hazard.

2.Christmas songs. Love love love em! cheesy i know but theyre so cheerful.Christmas is just such a cheerful time of year.

3.Sales. Cant wait to hit em.I have three shopping trips planned.Sales pillaging is happening big stylee this year.

4.Beanie hats.I just picked up one from beyond retro about a week ago while christmas shopping and I love it.Ill do a haul when my skin is good enough.but at the moment im too dry to appear on camera.

5.Christmas shopping.everythings so awesome at christmas.Seeing a lot of reindeer things about and loving it.Resisting the temptation to shop for myself quite well though.(The £4 i spent on jewellery the other day doesnt count)

Things I dont like
1.OH ITS SO COLD. cold + my skin= all out warfare.my skin gets so mad at me during the winter.its not as bad this year. Its an excuse to get face stuff and I think im gonna hit lush when my garnier runs out.

Sunday 2 December 2012

Holy crap its 23 days until christmas and I haven't bought the other half anything

What do boyfriends like?! Hes got socks and I think hes got pants. Help me please people reading this, comment your tushies off,I need help.
In other news I did something to my nails.

I really like Polka dot nails because they trick people into thinking I know what to do with nails, without you having to actually know what to do with nails.Theres also a lot of variety with them because im a nail varnish hoarder and theyre so easy to do without you needing to buy any special tools.I might buy a sponge and do galaxy nails.Or retry newspaper print nails.Ive done them before and they went reasonably well.If you want to see my do any tutorials let me know.I can do polka dot, newspaper print and possibly ombre and galaxy.
The colours I used were Rimmel I love lasting finish In black and barry M nail varnish in white. I can never find the colour on those bottles but its quite clearly white.
